Structural Equation Modeling Seminar

Five-day seminar  -  from May 6 to 10, 2019

Course description

The sessions are in English. This five-day seminar introduces structural equation modeling (SEM). Core SEM techniques, such as path analysis and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), are covered, and examples of applying SEM to actual research problems are considered. The presentation will be conceptually rather than mathematically oriented. Basic familiarity with multiple regression and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) is assumed. There is also an opportunity for those with no prior experience using a computer tool for SEM to practice on-site with the student version of LISREL. Even if participants eventually use a different SEM computer tool in their own work, principles learned from working with LISREL will generalize to related applications.

Trainer

R. Kline Rex Kline, PhD,  is Professor of Psychology at Concordia University in Montréal. Since earning a doctorate in clinical psychology, he has conducted research on the psychometric evaluation of cognitive abilities, behavioral and scholastic assessment of children, structural equation modeling, training of researchers, statistics reform in the behavioral sciences, and usability engineering in computer science. Dr. Kline has published a number of books, chapters, and journal articles in these areas. His website is http://tinyurl.com/rexkline.
